Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.

KB-9648: Remote Desktop Taskbar is Unavailable When Connection is Launched from Elevated Desktop Machine

On an Elevated Desktop on Machine1, when a Remote Desktop Connection is made to Machine2, the taskbar on Machine2 is inaccessible.  It can be seen under the taskbar on Machine1, but this placement makes it inaccessible.

If the remote desktop session is changed to a "windowed" instead of "full screen" mode, the task bar on Machine2 will appear above the taskbar of Machine1

Alternately, on Machine2, if the task bar is moved to another position on the screen (i.e. to the right hand side), then the task bar on the Remote Desktop Connection will also be on the right hand side, making the taskbar available in full screen mode.
