Unexpected behavior in Access Manager when creating Groups
Question: If a group name is not specified in Access Manager, there will be a pop up warning saying "you cannot define an empty group" But, if GID is not specified, it will not pop out any warning message. The group will then not get propagated to the Unix server. Is this by design?
Answer: Because the Group Name is the key and Centrify allows for in the zone hierarchy at any level, Centrify will allow user at that level to provide a name and expects the user to provide the GID somewhere in the zone hierarchy. That will be the reason why there is no pop op warning message when GID checkbox is left empty. As long as the merge of all the Unix attributes ends in a complete profile all is well.
