KB-9414: Centrify Report Services Wizard Fails In Three Computer Deployment

Centrify DirectControl ,

3 November,17 at 04:06 PM

Problem: When deploying Centrify Report Services in a three-computer deployment which has the SSRS server, SQL Instance and Centrify Report Services all on separate machines. The following error is displayed when going through the CRS setup wizard, although the necessary ports are open:

The service was unable to access the Report Server Web Service URL. Please make sure that the URL is correct and the report Server is accessible.

Cause:  The issue can be caused by a misconfiguration in the SSRS configuration file, RSReportServer.config.

Resolution: If TLS 1.2 is enabled please apply registry changes and patches listed in KB-9413

In RSReportServer.config make sure the Authentication Type is set to RSWindowsNegotiate

The Microsoft knowledge article listed below can be referenced for a step by step guide.

Microsoft References: Configure Windows Authentication in Reporting Services

Note: In a three-computer deployment model it is expected for the Centrify Report Services to not detect the Web Service URL and Report Manager URL. These can be directly copy and pasted from the SSRS configuration manager.
