KB-9062 Why is there an additional prompt for Admin rights on Android devices as of 17.7?

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, App Plus ,

Question:

Why is there a prompt explaining new Admin rights that are needed when enrolling a new Android device as of Centrify Identity Platform, version 17.7? Will all Users be prompted, even if already enrolled?

Answer:

Per Google Play store mandate, Centrify is required to explicitly disclose the need for Device Admin rights that a User must acknowledge before granting Device admin rights to the app. This will only impact End Users if they:

1. Are enrolling for the first time, or
2. Un-enroll, and enroll again.

Since there are no changes to functionality or additional permissions from previous builds, upgrading the app will not need the end user to accept this new message.
