KB-8904: Removal of SPN from create list at precreate time does not prevent that SPN from being made at join time

Centrify DirectControl ,

1 July,17 at 06:56 AM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl Console.

Problem:
If you remove an specific SPN from the selection at the time of Unix/Linux system precreation in the Direct Manage Access Manager Console the initial precreated AD
object does not have the HTTP SPN existing but when you do an " adjoin -S DOMAIN" to do a self serve join from the Unix/Linux system  the SPN is added to the AD object.

Cause:
This is expected behavior, as adjoin will still respect the default setting to create the SPN set as directed by the centrifydc.conf configuration file.
in other words, the precreated computer object may already have some SPNs' specified, but to adjoin, it has to complete what it is told to do.

Resolution:
To prevent this you not only have to remove the  unwanted SPN at precreate time but also remove it from the
/etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf parameter "adclient.krb5.service.principals " before doing the selfserve join.
