KB-8759: Contacts and Calendar items not being synced on an Android phone

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, App Plus ,

24 May,17 at 11:40 PM

Problem:

After pushing Exchange mail settings to an Android device using Mobile policy, some Users may not see calendar or contacts sync and can only see mail.

Cause:

The following policy is being pushed:

"Mobile Device Policies" > "Android Management Settings" > "Exchange Settings" > "Enable Exchange ActiveSync settings": Yes

This policy defines the profile for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts in the Android Management email application (Google Gmail). Because it uses the Gmail email application, it only allows to sync emails.

Resolution:

If the administrator pushes the following policy to the user's device, it will use the native mail application and thus sync emails, contacts and calendar items:

"Mobile Device Policies" > "Samsung KNOX Workspace Settings" > "Container Settings" > "Exchange Settings" > "Enable Exchange ActiveSync settings": Yes
