KB-8067: The ADEdit Commands to Get and List Computers in a Zone, Do Not Return Windows Machines that are Joined to the Zone

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,17 at 04:57 PM

Applies to:

All versions of Centrify DirectControl ADEdit

Question:

The ADEdit commands "get_zone_computers" and "list_zone_computers" return only Unix/Linux machines. Windows machines in the zone do not show up in the output.

Answer:

This is by design.  The administration of Windows machines joined to a zone is much different that for UNIX / Linux machines.  The ADEdit utility runs on UNIX / Linux machines and is intended to be an administration tool for *nix machines exclusively.
