KB-7848: Can Centrify disable notification when updating Box's account email during provision?

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, App Plus ,

19 July,17 at 06:48 PM

Applies to: Centrify Identity Service, App Edition

Question:

Is it possible to disable notification for end users when changes are made to their Box account’s email during provisioning?

Answer:

While Centrify is utilizing the Box provisioning API, we have contacted Box Support to clarify if they support to set their API notify attribute to “False”. The following response was received from Box regarding this feature:

"Unfortunately, you cannot change a user's login email without notifying them. The email is designed as a security feature, so that users can't have their own primary identifier changed without notifying them."

Therefore, it is NOT possible to disable notification for end users when changes are made to their Box account’s email as Box API does not currently support such feature.
