KB-7837: Centrify support for on-premises CRM add-ins

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, App Plus ,

11 November,16 at 10:58 PM

Applies to: Century Identity Service

Question:

Our organization is using Centrify to manage authentication to Office 365 and our end users are required to use a CRM add-in for Outlook. The add-in seems to install without issue but users are unable to complete login using the add-in for the rich client. Is this expected behavior?

Answer:

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM (WS-Fed) application is intended to be used for on-premises scenarios. Please see https://docs.centrify.com/en/centrify/appref/index.html?version=1478239169#page/cloudhelp%2Fg-n%2Fsaas_appref_microsoftdynamics.html%23 for more information.

The Centrify application for Office 365 currently supports WS-Federation but not WS-Trust. As a result, Centrify currently supports only browser based scenarios with Dynamics CRM on-prem. Centrify is working to add WS-Trust support for non-browser scenarios. Look for this capability in a release soon.

For additional instruction on how to add the Dynamics CRM from the Centrify App Catalog, please refer to the online help section: Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
