Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

KB-7837: Centrify support for on-premises CRM add-ins

Our organization is using Centrify to manage authentication to Office 365 and our end users are required to use a CRM add-in for Outlook. The add-in seems to install without issue but users are unable to complete login using the add-in for the rich client. Is this expected behavior?


The Microsoft Dynamics CRM (WS-Fed) application is intended to be used for on-premises scenarios. Please see for more information.

The Centrify application for Office 365 currently supports WS-Federation but not WS-Trust. As a result, Centrify currently supports only browser based scenarios with Dynamics CRM on-prem. Centrify is working to add WS-Trust support for non-browser scenarios. Look for this capability in a release soon.
