KB-7692: MFA fails on first try - Adclient fails to automatically contact another available cloud connector after the first one fails

Centrify DirectControl ,

27 November,16 at 11:53 PM

Applies to: Suite 2016 (5.3.0) and above on all supported Unix/Linux versions.

Problem:
When attempting to login as AD user with MFA required, the first time fails and then proceeds to work on the second try.

Failure example:
#ssh mfau01@centos7
Password:
SSL connection error

Cause:
The current cloud connector adclient is connected to gets disconnected. Adclient fails to automatically contact another available cloud connector after the attempted cloud connector fails. The default timeout for failing to connect to a cloud connector is the same as the http timeout at 30 seconds. This prevents the client from being able to attempt another cloud connector automatically.

Workaround:
Adclient will try the next available cloud connector in the next attempt.

Resolution:
This will be fixed in a later release.
