KB-7636: How to enable PingID MFA to work with Centrify authentication

Auditing and Monitoring Service ,   Authentication Service ,

7 January,19 at 04:20 PM

Question:
How can PingID's MFA be configured to authenticate with Centrify?

Answer:
1) Follow the instructions for PingID’s PAM installation. Instructions can be found at the below URL, provided as a courtesy.

2) Rename pam_centrifydc_cloud.so in the /lib/security/ and /lib64/security/ directories and then create symlinks to /lib64/security/pam_pingid.so.

mv /lib64/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so  /lib64/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so.orig
mv /lib/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so  /lib/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so.orig
ln -s /lib64/security/pam_pingid.so /lib64/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so

ln -s /lib64/security/pam_pingid.so /lib/security/pam_centrifydc_cloud.so

3) Create and assign a Centrify role with MFA (require MFA for login)

or create an UNIX right with MFA (require multi-factor authentication) and assign that right to a role.
