Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

KB-7634 Proper format for proxyAddresses attribute

Problem:

If the format of the proxyAddresses value on Active Directory is not setup properly, incremental sync of the update value will not occur, while there will not be any error messages appear on the sync report. Here are some of the bad examples where the format of the proxyAddresses field is not set properly:

SMTP: user@centrify.com (Extra space in between)

smtp user@example.com (Missing symbol)

user@sample.com (Missing component of the field)

Cause:

While configuring the proxyAddresses value on the Active Directory for users, please make sure the format is configured as follow:
 
SMTP:<email>                 Example: SMTP:user@centrify.com
 
Or
 
smtp:<email>                   Example: smtp:user@example.com
