KB-7561: Limitation on setting ownership to end-users' own personal home directory for Box

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,

7 October,16 at 12:46 PM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify Identity Service

Question:

Is it possible to set end-users owner of their Personal Home Directory?

Answer:

It is not possible to make the end-user the owner of their own personal home directory. The 'owner' role is determined by the root parent folder of any folder and the owner of root should be Box's admin and cannot be changed to the end-user.

Also it is not possible to create personal home directory on the top level as it should be owned by Box's admin only. Hence end-users' personal home directory will be created under the root directory with the permission of 'co-owner', which the other owner will be Box's admin as inherited from the root directory.
