KB-7538: Storing AIX extended attributes within Active Directory

29 September,16 at 02:50 PM

Applies to:

All versions of Centrify DirectControl >5.x on all supported platforms

Question:

How can AIX extended attributes be stored within Active Directory for zone users?

Answer:

This can be accomplished via 'adedit' functions to manipulate user fields in AD.

Example:

> select_zone_user demos@ocean.net
> set_zone_user_field aix.rlogin true
> get_zone_user_field aix.rlogin
true
> save_zone_user

Further confirmation:

# adquery user demos -A | grep aix
aix.fsize:-1
aix.rlogin:true
# adquery user demos -X aix.rlogin
true
#

Please also refer to KB-2181: How to use adedit to add an AIX extended attribute. for additional details/mechanism
