KB-7529: Unable to remote to resource outside of corporate network

Privileged Access Service ,

28 September,16 at 09:13 PM

After adding a resource into Privilege Manager with Centrify Privilege Service (CPS), we are unable to use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to access systems when outside the corporate network.  Inside of the corporate network, we can do RDP sessions without any issues.

How can the resource be accessed via RDP outside of the corporate network?

In order to do a remote session from outside the corporate network to a resource in privilege manager, you need to allow access from a public network for that resource.

The Allow access from a public network can be set at the Global level or at the Resource level.

To set at Resource level:

That setting can be found in Privilege Manager by going to Systems and clicking on the system in question.
Then click on Policy on the right column and under System Security, set the Allow access from a public network to Yes.
Then click save.

To set at Global level:

That setting can be found in Admin Portal by going to Settings and clicking on Infrastructure then Security Settings on the right.
Check the Allow access from a public network box to enable for all resources.
Then click save.
