Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary

KB-7065: adquery user command shows inconsistent result in Classic Zone

Problem:

Why does the '
adquery user' command show an inconsistent result when there are more than one user zone profile mapped to the same Active Directory user in a Classic Zone?


Cause:

There are a few problems exist with the use case of a single Active Directory user with multiple profiles in a Classic Zone.  It is an intractable problem in Classic Zone due to flaws in the underlying data structure that was not designed for this situation.  
This is completely revamped with the release of Hierarchical Zone technology as of Centrify DirectControl version 5.  The data structure has been completely redesigned to support this and it cannot be back ported into Classic Zones.


Resolution:

This issue may be resolved by migrating to our Hierarchical Zone architecture.  For more information on migrating from Classic to Hierarchical Zones please see the DirectControl Admin guide:
