KB-7056: Can CNAME DNS records be used to redirect users to the Centrify User portal?

Does Centrify Support the use of CNAME records to redirect users to the Centrify user portal? As example, could an admin create a CNAME DNS entry such as: "" that points to "" We use this configuration currently and it seems to work but users receive a certificate error when navigating to the page. Can a certificate be provided to Centrify which will prevent SSL errors if this has already been configured?


At this time, Centrify does not provide this functionality in the current release but users should be able to continue past the certificate error if this experience is acceptable. Administrators are recommended to instead create a tenant URL that is specific to your company so that your users can easily remember the Centrify Cloud URL. As example, a tenant URL of "" could be used. Any existing URLs will be redirected to the one marked “Default URL”.

Tenant URL requirements:
  • Always begin with an alphabet
  • Maximum of 63 characters
  • Can only contain alphabets, numbers, and dashes (-)
