KB-7042: How to install Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac

This quick start guide describes the steps to install Centrify DirectManage Access Installation for Mac. Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac provides a light footprint and smaller set of components when compared to the full Centrify Suite installation package and allows you to manage Mac users in Active Directory using Centrify's Auto Zone feature. DirectManage Access allows administrators to configure and apply Group Policy for Mac, run license usage reports, enter licenses for Mac computers, and more all without having to install the complete Server Suite set of components.

Note: The full installer of Centrify Server Suite is also available if you want all components and Centrify Zone management features.


Download and install Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac on Windows:

On your Windows computer, log in to the Centrify Customer Support Portal, then click Download Center and scroll down to “Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac”. This document focuses on the Mac Console installer, which includes the following.
  • Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) extension
  • Group Policy Object Editor (GPOE) extension
  • Centrify Deployment Report
  • License Manager
To download and install Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac:
  1. Find Centrify Server Suite 2016.1 Mac Console on the Customer Support Portal downloads area, then select Download ZIP.
  2. Extract the zip files to a folder on the Windows computer.
  3. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 if it is not already installed. The necessary files are included in the Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac download.
  4. Quit any running Windows programs before continuing with the installation.
  5. Double-click setup.exe to start the Centrify DirectManage Access for Mac installation, then follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  6. Once the installation is complete, select Configure Licenses for DirectManage Access for Mac if you want to proceed to , then click Finish to complete the wizard.

Enter license keys:

When prompted, enter a license container location and the license key provided to you from Centrify Sales. Creating the license container and entering keys requires the following permissions:
