KB-6977: Finder Settings Group Policy will only function on 10.9 or below

6 June,16 at 11:27 AM

Applies to: All version of Centrify DirectControl for Mac on 10.10 or above

Problem:

It is found that "Configure Finder Commands" and "Configure Finder Preferences" Group Policies will not work on 10.10 or above. Both policies can be found at User Configuration > Centrify Settings > Mac OS X Settings > Finder Settings.

Cause:

Due to the change in behavior in Mac OS X since 10.10, the previous way in configuring finder settings will no longer function as it was in 10.9 or below.

Resolution:

There is no resolution for this issue but Apple Bug was filed to track for this change. The policy is deprecated in Centrify for now. To further understand this behavior change, please contact Apple for details.
