Applies to:

All versions of Centrify Direct Audit

Question:

Is the Direct Audit video data that is stored in an SQL Server database encrypted? What would prevent the video from being viewed should the database be compromised?

Answer:

The video data, although not encrypted, is stored in a proprietary format in the database. It is spread across multiple tables and rows. The data "as-is" cannot be played by a video player. It needs significant processing before it can be turned into a video file.
