KB-6546:ssh-mergeconf shall handle PermitRootLogin as default

13 October,16 at 12:51 AM

Applies to:
All versions Centrify-enabled OpenSSH on all platforms

Question:
What is the default setting for the "PermitRootLogin" value in Centrify-enabled OpenSSH?

Answer:

For versions of Centrify-enabled OpenSSH 5.2.3 and lower,
the default is "yes" for "PermitRootLogin"

Starting with Centrify-enabled OpenSSH 5.3.0,
the default is "no" or similar setting depending on the OS.

If you are upgrading and manually modified this value, we will honor it after upgrade.

If you left the value at the default, we will change this to the new default.

Please take appropriate action to set the preferred parameter either before or after you upgrade.
