Applies to:
Centrify NIS Server version 5.2.3 on all platforms
Problem:
NIS maps periodically go missing on multiple hosts, then after a short while (minutes), they return. The issue is present on a few systems throughout the environment at any given time.
Cause:
In situations where there is a DC switch on the adclient side and the agent must rebuild the NIS map cache from the new DC, there is a brief period where the NIS maps are empty.
Workaround:
Turn off the DC refresh force and lower nisd.server.switch.delay=600 to 5 sec or so
Set the followings in /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf file settings on the system:
adclient.binding.refresh.force: false
nisd.server.switch.delay: 5
You should restart both the adclient and adnisd processes if both are running when you make the change.
Resolution:
This is now fixed in Suite 2016
