KB-6398: ADNISD stops functioning on AIX

Centrify DirectControl ,

4 October,16 at 10:27 PM

Applies to:
ADNISD ver 5.2.1 and adclient ver 5.2.1 running on AIX  7.1 PAM and AIX 6.1 LAM

Problem:
The server runs fine for a while and then the system running ADNISD becomes unreliable , hanging at times and ypwhich and ypcat commands from the client systems get the error "Domain not Bound"

It only happends on AIX systems with multiple interfaces. This probably have something to do with when the free memory is being reused.

From the code, this should happen when adclient switches domain controller.

Causes:
There are two parts to the crash:
1. adnisd problem, a faulted erase while iterating. The code that handles updating the map sets are wrong. It tried to erase an iterator while iterating through the iterator in a loop.

2. a race condition in libgssrpc

Resolution:
This is now fixed in Suite 2016.
