KB-6346: Centrify Browser Extension prompting to install continuously.

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, App Plus ,

26 September,16 at 09:52 PM

Problem:

A bookmark app for the User Portal is created and saved to the desktop. The desktop bookmark file was saved as 'Centrify User Portal.website'. The bookmark shortcut does not appear the same as the regular browser window; it does not load all of the toolbar icons, etc.

Cause:
In IE9 and IE 10, there are two kind of shortcut for a website. One is 'Internet Shortcut" which has "url" file extension. The other one is "Pinned Site Shortcut" which has "website" file extension. For Pinned Site, the add-on is disabled. There is no override.

Workaround:
Use 'Internet Shortcut" only. To create a shortcut to Internet Explorer on your desktop, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then locate the Internet Explorer icon on the Start menu.
2. Right-click and drag the Internet Explorer icon from the Start menu to your desktop, and then click Create Shortcuts Here, or click Copy Here.

Solution:

None.
