KB-6341: Best practices for moving Active Directory/LDAP users to different security groups

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,

12 April,16 at 10:59 AM

Applies to: Centrify Identity Service for O365

When using Centrify’s Office 365 Provisioning, below is the best practices for moving Active Directory/LDAP users to different security groups.

 1. Add the user to the new role/license mapping while still a member of the original role & click "Save"
 2. Once added to the new role, and after an incremental sync completes, the user can be removed from the original role. (This should hopefully prevent any deprovisioning actions and only allow the license change to be performed.)
 3. Perform a manual sync for the user after the role change to ensure correct license allocation.

Note: While the user is member of multiple roles and a sync job occurs, the message "invalid combination of licenses" may be presented and is expected behavior.
