KB-5799: How to Audit only commands executed and not the output in DirectAudit

Centrify DirectAudit ,

12 April,16 at 10:57 AM

Applies to:
Centrify DirectAudit 5.3.0+ on All OS Platforms

Question:
Is there a way to configure DirectAudit agent to collect only commands that user enters and not the output of those commands and set the configuration on per server basis?

Answer:
On DirectAudit agent 5.3.0 or later, DirectAudit video capture can be disabled per system bases using the agent.video.catpure parameter in the centrifyda.conf file. This value overrides the video capture settings configured for the DirectAudit installation. Setting it to "disabled" captures entered commands only.

On DirectAudit agent 5.2.2 and 5.2.3, the dash.obfuscate.regex and the dash.obfuscate.pattern parameters can be used to hide sensitive information matching specified pattern in stdout. Please refer to our Configuration and Tuning Reference Guide for more information regarding these parameters.
