Applies to versions of Centrify DirectControl on AIX WPAR before 5.1.3
After a fresh install of Centrify on an AIX WPAR, logins are failing with an error reflecting the following:
root# clogin lstw221
3004-619 Security method "CENTRIFYDC" could not be loaded.
Logs show the following:
Problem accessing /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg
Looking at this file on the system results in the following:
root@lstw221:/# ls -l /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 27 Jul 17 15:13 /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg -> /etc/centrifydc/methods.cfg
root@lstw221:/# ls -l /etc/centrifydc/methods.cfg
ls: 0653-341 The file /etc/centrifydc/methods.cfg does not exist.
During the installation of 5.0.2, a copy of /etc/methods.cfg is created as:
This is visible to all WPARs so when we call the install.sh function for interoperating with WPARs (fix_wpar); on each WPAR we are supposed to copy the file from the above location to /etc/centrifydc/methods.cfg, but this fails. This is a known issue.
Workaround:If the WPAR has /etc/centrifydc/methods.cfg missing after the install, it should be copied from /usr/share/centrifydc/wpar/etc/centrifydc. This should be copied BEFORE doing an adjoin.
This was resolved in Suite 2014 (5.1.3).
