KB-5319: Installed Applications list in Cloud Manager showing all apps on multiple Mac OS partitions

Centrify Identity Service, App Edition ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:14 AM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify for Saas

Question:
In the Devices tab of Cloud Manager, when selected a Mac OS X computer with multiple disk partitions and show its Installed Applications tab, why are applications that are part of another Mac OS partition are also shown?

Answer:
This is a feature of OS X that even installed on other partitions, an user can still launch that the app. This is why the system report on Centrify Cloud Manager will list out all ".app" applications including the ones on another partition even if it is the same application across multiple partitions.
