Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl

Question:

What does following message mean?
Apr 11 11:56:38 host1 addns[23227]: INFO AUDIT_TRAIL|Centrify Suite|Trusted Path|1.0|2701|Trusted path denied|5|user=host1$@child.XXX.XXX pid=23227 utc=1234568791234 status=DENIED server=dns/DC.XXX.XXX@XXX.XXX reason=Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm

Answer:

This is not error message and is safe to be ignored.
Addns command deals with dynamic DNS update, it finds out the joined host’s IP address and hostname, then tries to perform the DNS update securely if necessary.
If the joined domain is child.XXX.XXX and “adclient.ldap.trust.local.domain.only” is set to TRUE, adclient will not build up the domain information map for parent domain XXX.XXX.
While addns trying to access the parent domain XXX.XXX, it can not work out the KDC for parent domain XXX.XXX.
