KB-5176: SID compression requires Samba 4 to support

Centrify DirectControl Plugins ,

21 December,15 at 06:44 PM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify-Enabled Samba

Question:

Does Centrify-Enabled Samba support SID compression?

Answer:

As a new feature in part of Windows server 2012, SID compression requires Samba 4 to work.

If Centrify-Enabled Samba is still being used, please disable SID compression on all Windows 2012 servers.
Otherwise, please migrate or upgrade from Centrify-enabled Samba to stock Samba 4.x and utilize the new Centrify Adbindproxy.

Please refer to Microsoft Article 2774190 on disabling resource SID compression: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2774190
