KB-4512: New OSes may be shown as unsupported after updating manifest file in Deployment Manager

Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:14 AM

Applies to:

All versions of Centrify Deployment Manager (DM)

Question:

After installing Deployment Manager and downloading the latest manifest file, upon adding a machine to Deployment Manager, the following error is reported:

Operating System "Unsupported OS"

This issue does not exist if the latest version of Deployment Manager is used.

Answer:

Centrify uses a manifest file with LUA scripts to recognize new OS versions. A manifest update alone may not always be enough to recognize a new OS.

To use Deployment Manager with the newest supported OSes, update both Deployment Manager and the latest manifest file.

The manifest file can be found in the "Centrify Server Suite Unix/Linux/Mac Agents - All-In-One Disk" download on the customer support portal:

To Import a copy of the Centrify Product Catalog in Deployment Manager, see the following article:
