If the new domain is in a new forest, it's better to create a new DA installation in the new forest and attach the old databases to it rather than following the migration process.
Details:
The location of domain matters more than the type of SQL server (new/old) or type of domain (new/old); if the new domain is part of the same old forest, current migration document will work without any issues (because all domains within a forest have transitive two-way trust between them). On the older hand, if new domain is part of a new forest, it's better to create a new DA installation in new forest and attach the old databases to it rather than following the migration process (just because it's tricky and not worth the effort).
