Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.

KB-4298: Location reporting for user login does not appear to be accurate in the Cloud Manager

When viewing location-based user login information in the Cloud Manager, the IP address location does not always match the actual location of the user attempting to login.
As an example of this behavior, users located in the San Francisco area could display using an IP address from Kansas.

Is this a known issue with Centrify?


The IP recorded in the map display references the incoming IP connection at login time and is expected behavior. This information is subject to ISP redirection or NAT operations and may not match the physical user location.
The IP information can also be validated from a user system by performing a Google search for  "whats my ip", or visiting a 3rd party website such as
