KB-40988: Centrify Client for Linux Proxy Settings Get Removed

Privileged Access Service ,

11 September,20 at 02:50 PM

Problem: It has been found that when using the Centrify Client for Linux and when enrolled to the tenant using an HTTP proxy (using the -p option), the proxy settings will eventually get removed. This may cause an issue with user logins and password checkouts (cgetaccount).

Symptoms of the issue:

cdebug logs will show the following:

ERROR: 2020/08/21 02:25:03.275708 agent.go:198: [32163] Backchannel Agent => TCP Relay connection failure: dial tcp: address http://10.25.1.30:8080: too many colons in address
ERROR: 2020/08/21 02:25:03.275718 agent.go:209: [32163] Backchannel Agent => Reconnection failure: dial tcp: address http://10.25.1.30:8080: too many colons in address
ERROR: 2020/08/21 02:25:03.275726 agent.go:328: [32163] Backchannel Agent => Connection failed, cannot do HealthCheck

Output of the cinfo command will show the following:

Client Channel Status: Offline

Running the cedit -l command will show the following:

ProxyURL: (empty string)

Additionally, unenrolling and re-enrolling also does not seem to help.

Resolution: This has been fixed in the Centrify Client for Linux version 20.5. Please update to this version. No re-enrollment should be necessary.
