KB-4046: Why /da/cdashmod appears in /etc/shells after upgrading from 3.1.0 to 3.1.1

Centrify DirectAudit ,

23 May,16 at 08:32 AM

Applies to: Centrify DirectAudit 3.2.2 or before.

Question:

Starting from DirectAudit 3.1.1, shell
/da/cdashmod is replaced with /bin/centrifyda. However, why /etc/shells still includes the line /da/cdashmod after upgraded to CDA 3.1.1?

# dainfo -v
dainfo (CentrifyDA 3.1.1-121)

# cat /etc/shells
/bin/bash
/bin/csh
/bin/ksh
/bin/sh
/bin/tcsh
/da/cdashmod
/sbin/nologin
/usr/bin/dzsh
/bin/centrifyda

Answer:

The line
/da/cdashmod was left inside /etc/shells after upgrading from an earlier versions. It's just an entry that is not going to be used by any software.

This has been fixed in Suite 2015.1.
