KB-36015: Adsyncignore changes are not saved

Authentication Service ,

26 June,20 at 07:28 PM

Problem:
Centrify provides two options to automatically maintain the user.ignore and group.ignore files: the first is done through Group Policies and the second through a script called adsyncignore. When choosing the adsyncignore route, users are discovering that changes made by adsyncignore are reverted when group policies are refreshed, even if group policies are not enabled.

Cause:
When invoked during a Group Policy update, nssIgnore.pl will use the .bak filed created by adsyncignore to save to the default ignore files.

Workaround:
Disabling nssIgnore.pl using the command below will prevent the restoration of the .bak files:
chmod a-x /usr/share/centrifydc/mappers/machine/nssIgnores.pl

Solution:
Centrify is planning a fix in an upcoming release.
