KB-32802: Active Directory Users unable to login to AIX server after OS upgrade

Authentication Service ,

29 July,20 at 04:11 PM

Problem:

After applying the latest 1939 Operating System patches on an IBM AIX machine, Active Directory Users are unable to login to the AIX system.

Cause:

The following content is missing from the
/etc/methods.cfg file:
CENTRIFYDC:
program = /usr/lib/security/CENTRIFYDC
program_64 = /usr/lib/security/CENTRIFYDC64
options = noprompt

Workaround:

Option 1:
Add the following content to the /etc/methods.cfg file manually:

CENTRIFYDC:
program = /usr/lib/security/CENTRIFYDC
program_64 = /usr/lib/security/CENTRIFYDC64
options = noprompt

Option 2:
- Download and extract the attached script (
autoedit_default_methods.pl.zip)
- Deploy the file into this location on the affected system:
/usr/share/centrifydc/scripts/
- Set the file permission to 755
- Proceed to run this command:

/usr/share/centrifydc/scripts/autoedit_default_methods.pl --cfg_file /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg

Note: A management and deployment tool can be used to deploy the script.

Solution:

A fix for this issue will be included in the 2020 Centrify Infrastructure Services release.
