Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:11 AM

Applies to: Centrify DirectControl version 5.1.1 and above on Mac OS X

Question:

Is it possible to set up an automatic wireless connection using a 802.1x WiFi profile and host certificate on Mac OS X?

Answer:

This feature was introduced in Centrify Suite 2013.2 / Mac agent version 5.1.1.

For configuration steps, see pg101 of the Centrify Admin Guide for Mac:
Part of the pre-requisites for the above steps is for the Mac or user to have a certificate for authentication into
the 802.1x network. For steps on configuring these certificates, see the following KBs:

If the wifi environment does not require 802.1x or certificates to authenticate in, it is also possible to deploy wifi
settings via an Apple Configuration Profile, see the following KB for more info:

Note:
  • There are currently no plans to do 802.1x wifi on RedHat or Ubuntu as of yet.
