Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.

KB-3153: Delegate Permissions to Join and Remove Computers does not work

Question:

 

When delegating some tasks using the Zone Delegation Wizard, why does it not seem to take the change?

 

For Example:

 

Using the Delegation wizard to allow a group the task of join and remove and the wizard completed successfully. 

 

But when the permissions tab is examined,  the group is not listed and users cannot add machines. 

 

But if full control is given, the group is seen.

 

 

Answer:

 

In order to apply the tasks the following task MUST be selected:

 

  • Change zone properties

Once selected and applied, the group under permission will be seen as all the tasks were applied due to this selection.
