Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

KB-3073: Mac OS X reports that OpenDirectory is using 100% CPU

Applies to: Centrify DirectControl for Mac version 5.1.0-497

Problem:

After installing DirectControl for Mac version 5.1.0-497, Activity Monitor may display the opendirectoryd process to be using 100-400% CPU usage. 

Users may experience slow system performance and see multiple crash files related to opendirectoryd in the /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports system folder.


Cause:

This is a known issue with version 5.1.0-497 of the Centrify Mac agent.


Resolution:

Update to the latest version of Centrify which fixes this issue.
