KB-2996: Unable to deploy Legacy group policy options to Mac OS X

Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:10 AM

Applies to: Centrify DirectControl version 5.1 for Mac OS X

Problem:

After configuring Mac OS X legacy group policy options for managing System Preferences or Mobility Settings, the policies do not apply as expected.

Cause:

This issue can occur if Legacy Settings are used - these are intended for use with previous versions of DirectControl and OS X versions 10.4 or prior.

The current 5.1 version of the DirectControl Agent for Mac is only compatible with OS X versions 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 and may not process the Legacy policy options as expected.

Resolution:

Users of DirectControl 5.1 with Mac OS X versions 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 are required to use the version-specific policy options available for System Preferences or Mobility Settings.

Any legacy policy options currently configured should be discontinued and set to "Not Configured".
