KB-2936: Unable to initialize the tcl environment when running addebug

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,16 at 11:07 AM

Question:

Running the Centrify debug command results in the error:

#/usr/share/centrifydc/bin/addebug on

Unable to initialize tcl environment:
out of stack space (infinite loop?)
Error: Cannot create temp directory

The temp directory is not full, so why does this error occur?

Answer:

This is known issue in TCL8.5.x. Please see the link below: (Provided as a courtesy)

The addebug script has a call to invoke adedit to work out of a temporary directory. If root login has too small of a stack space, the error occurs.

Workaround:

Please set ulimit -s to 32768 (or lower value) for root.

Attempt debug again.

Resolution:

This issue is fixed in Centrify Suite 2014.1 (5.2.1)
