KB-2710: Centrify Mobile tab missing from device properties in ADUC

Authentication Service ,   App Access Service ,

12 April,16 at 11:10 AM

Applies to: Centrify Identity Service

The Centrify Cloud Management Suite is installed on a Windows 2008 server in our environment.

When viewing mobile device properties in ADUC on the proxy host, the Centrify Mobile tab is visible.

Why is the tab missing in ADUC when viewing device properties from a Windows 7 workstation with RSAT (Remote Server Administration Tools) installed?

The Active Directory extensions are only installed on the proxy host and will need to be installed on the Windows 7 workstation as well.

When installing the Cloud Manager Suite, there is the option to customize the setup by selecting the "AD Users and Computers Console Extensions".

If planning to manage device group policy options from the workstation, it will also require installation of the "Group Policy Console Extensions".

If installing the "Cloud Proxy Server" option on the workstation, be sure to register using the same Centrify account and Customer ID as the primary proxy.

Although multiple cloud proxy servers for a single DirectControl for Mobile installation can be configured, only one of them is active at a time - the others are placed on standby - in case of failure, one of the standby servers will take over.
