KB-2662: GNOME 2.16 screensaver cannot be unlocked with an expired password

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,16 at 11:09 AM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl on RedHat (GNOME 2.16).

Problem:

When the session is locked, the screensaver appears and requires a password to unlock the session.

If the password expires during this period, then it is not possible to unlock the session. It seems there is no option for changing the password during this time.

Cause:

GNOME 2.16 screensaver does not support password change.

Workaround:

Upgrade the GNOME package on the server.

Resolution:

None as this is not a Centrify related issue.
