Applies to: Centrify DirectControl Console 5.0.2.
Question:
Consider an environment that has a large number of computers, all currently managed locally. The way to import the /etc/password file for each system into Centrify is using the "Import from UNIX" menu item which appears at each zone. At each zone level, if we do a right click on "UNIX Data" and you will get a menu which begins with "Import from UNIX".
Why at the individual computer level, when you do a right click on "UNIX Data", there is no "Import from UNIX"?
Workaround:
1) Create a new zone (or use an existing one) for the import
2) Go through the Import from UNIX wizard as always
3) When finished, go to the zone and select all users (or groups) right click and pick Copy
4) Go to the machine, UNIX data, Users (or groups), right click and select Paste.
Solution:
This is fixed in Centrify DirectControl 5.1.0 and above.
