KB-2107: AD user can not access Centrify-samba share with DirectControl 5.0.0 on AIX

Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify DirectControl Plugins ,

12 April,16 at 11:02 AM

Applies to:

Centrify DirectControl version 5.0.0 with Centrify-Enabled samba version 3.5.9-4.5.1 on AIX

Problem:

When user access the samba share on AIX server with both DirectControl 5.0 and Centrify-Enabled samba setup, it will fail with the following error:

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO or NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

Cause:

Library libtdb.so fail to sync the computer password for samba in secrets.tdb with adclient and therefore samba fail to access the domain.

Workaround:

1. Edit /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf and change

samba.interop.uselibtdb: false

2. delete /etc/samba/private/secrets.tdb file

3. re-run adbindproxy to create new secrets.tdb file

Resolution:

This will be fixed in next Samba release.
