KB-2104: How to archive/delete DirectAudit data using SQL tools

Centrify DirectAudit ,

12 April,16 at 10:57 AM

Applies toAll versions of Centrify DirectAudit.

Question:
In a hybrid environment that uses DirectAudit 1 and 2, is there a feature that allows customers to archive/delete old sessions (stored on the SQL server). Currently the databases stored on the SQL server continue to grow and grow. While its possible for SQL DBAs to write a SQL job that will delete data beyond a certain date (say 6-12 months old), can customers get information on what tables are involved?

Answer:
Centrify's database schema supports cascade delete; which means deleting a row in main table will automatically clean up the entries from the related tables.

For DA 2.0:
You'll need to look into Session table of Audit Store database and delete each row for the session you want to delete.

e.g. delete from session where starttime='2012/02/12 11:00:00 AM'

For DA 1.3:
You'll need to look into Session table of Direct Audit database and delete each row for the session you want to delete.

e.g. delete from session where endtime='2012/02/12 11:00:00 AM'
