Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

KB-2082: "sudo adgpupdate" returns "Current User not found in Active Directory"

Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl on all versions of Mac OS X
 
Problem:
 
When running the command: 
 
  sudo adgpupdate
 
The last line from the output reports:
 
  Current User not found in Active Directory
 
Example:
 
bash-3.2$ sudo adgpupdate -V
session opened
Refreshing Computer Policy...
Success
Refreshing User Policy...
Current User not found in Active Directory
 

Cause:
 
The "sudo" statement will execute the command with local administrator privileges and so not come from Active Directory.


Resolution:
 
Do not run adgpupdate with sudo.
 
Example:
 
bash-3.2$ adgpupdate -V
session opened
Refreshing Computer Policy...
Success
Refreshing User Policy...
Success
