Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

How to use adedit to add an AIX extended attribute?

Usage: adedit [AD admin] [zone user] [attribute] [value] 

**Please test this with a testing account before using it on a production system.


[root@rhls64 script]# adedit administrator souser aix.stack -1
administrator@ILTEST.NET's password:
[root@rhls64 script]# adedit administrator souser aix.core 2097151
administrator@ILTEST.NET's password:

[root@rhls64 script]# adquery user souser -X aix.stack
[root@rhls64 script]# adquery user souser -X aix.core

Please refer to the sample script attached.

Note: To find all supported user and group extended attributes, please run
adquery user -X help
adquery group -X help

These two commands can be executed on all Unix/Linux server that has CentrifyDC agent installed.  We have now expanded extended attribute support to HPUX.
