KB-19059: Is system reboot required when upgrading Centrify Connector?

Privileged Access Service ,

16 August,19 at 12:26 PM

Applies to: All versions of Privileged Access Service

Question:

Sometimes following message prompts when upgrading the connector. Is the system reboot mandatory?

"The installer must restart your system before configuration of Centrify Connector can continue. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to manually restart later"

Answer:

The system reboot message can be seen under 2 circumstances.

1. There is .NET update in the new Centrify Connector then the connector host has to be restated. Centrify will send out the notice in advance to remind the end user with such information
"This release includes updates to .net, which require a reboot of your on-premise Centrify Connector."

2. There is any file in use, e.g. Centrify Connector UI is still running, when Centrify Connector upgrade happens. The system reboot message can be ignored.
